You may think that only the visuals have changed within the blog, but thats not true.

Yes, per my previous post some time back, I have finally gotten around to upgrading this blog over to wordpress.  All previous posts are still here, but you, my valued visitor, will notice some changes.

For one, the SPAM should be nothing, or next to nothing now.  This is because I have turned on COMMENT MODERATION, something that b2evolution didn’t have, and I missed it. This means that now, you will not see your comment posted right away.  I will look at better alternatives, and perhaps use registration to stop future SPAM posts.

The rest of the changes have taken place behind the scenes, but feel free to register.  If you were previously registered, you will still be registered at the new blog.  If you weren’t you can register at the link below (on the right hand side).

These changes should provide you with a better reading experience, and provide me with a better management experience as well.

Hey guys, yup, stil have not yet had ONE cigarette, and its been 8 full days now. Thats $30, and 160 cigarettes that I have not smoked, over a day of my life saved so far.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I have kept myself rather busy these past few days. Went and saw Cars with a friend of mine because they paid, and then saw Click on Saturday because I wanted to reward myself for making it through the week. Not a bad movie, but I only went to see it because I was in the mood for a comedy and that’s all that was playing at the time.

Well anyways, I won’t continue to post daily now that I have been quit for a week, I’ll probably update everyone next Sunday, unless I slip or something else interesting happens this week.

Smoke Free Day 4

06-21-06

OK, yeah I know your probably sick of the daily “I haven’t had a cigarette” posts, but needless to say, I made it another day.

Today was probably the easiest day yet. Aside from a few cravings later in the day, I hardly thought about it, unless I decided to think about it.

I’ll probably continue with the daily updates for now, but starting Saturday or Sunday, I’ll probably go down to weekly, and then monthly, and then yearly, unless of course I slip, in which case I WILL be honest about it.

I made it a whole three days without smoking, go me!

Overall, its definitely getting easier, and every craving that I have that goes away makes me feel REALLY good about myself.

Today, I think I only had a handful of cravings, and I’m not only saving money, but I’m saving my life.

Anyone else who may be thinking about quitting, please stop by www.quitnet.com, its been a great resource for me, and everyone there has been very helpful in providing words of support!

Well, I made it through day 2, and let me tell you, parts of it were really tough. I have been smoking for 7 years now, and this is a change.

I feel good, I can breath better, food is starting to taste better, and I my sense of smell has improved.

Day 2 was not all roses, however. I had some pretty strong cravings. Some went away after 5 minutes, some lasted for an hour or more, and right now, I do not crave one at all. Above and beyond, THEY WENT AWAY! Thats one thing I can tell myself when they come back, that they will go away, and I am sure as time goes on, they will lessen.

Wish me luck as I prepare to enter day 3, I’ll have an update tomorrow on how it goes!

Today, I would like to stand up and proclaim that I have quit smoking. Sure, I have tried to quit before, but today I HAVE quit smoking. I will post daily here to let you all know how it works out. Any advice from any former smokers out there on getting through the first days of being smoke free?

I have decided to use the patch, and I have also joined the Quitnet smoking group at www.quitnet.com (profile is under mnxmfan if anyone is interested).

The first day has been kind of hard, but I cleaned out my car, and threw out the last three packs of cigarettes I had, because there is NO BETTER TIME THAN NOW to quit smoking, otherwise I’ll just keep making excuses on why I have yet to quit smoking.

Thank you in advance for your support, and I’ll be back tomorrow with an update!
