Yeah, I know its not that big of a deal to most, but I got a REALLY good deal on it. Its solid Oak, about 10 years old, in EXCELLENT condition. 4 chairs, the table, and a leaf (you could fit six people around this thing, but it’d be a bit crowded) for $250. It’s gonna last me a long time, and has really no visible damage aside from a small spot where the finish is wearing a little. It’s solid oak though, so I can refinish it.
I wasn’t going to make any purchases until I found an apartment, and I haven’t been looking much yet because I haven’t been hired on (still in the Temp of a Temp to hire 3 month contract) which I wanted to wait until that happened. I should get hired on sometime in the first or second week of June, assuming all goes well (which it very well should, they all really like me there and I know what I’m doing).
It’s certainly not to say I haven’t been looking at apartments, I have 4 of them in mind, all within a few miles of work (and with $4 a gallon gas, I figured it would be best to live as close as possible!). It’s all going to boil down to what I am making when I get hired on, as all of them have the amenities I am looking for, they are all decent enough places, and the only difference is location and price (although even that is only a difference of $70 a month, but as I am sure most of you know that can make or break a budget!)
